TreeCot
nestles on the edge of a gully in the hills overlooking the west
coast of Barbados, giving a fine view across the ocean to the
north-west; thanks to being around 250ft above sea level, it
enjoys a cooling breeze most of the year. The beach is just five
minutes drive away, while a trip to the shops in Holetown takes
just a little longer... well, seven minutes, actually! One can of
course catch a bus, which passes every hour, but the walk back up
the hill is only for the younger or fitter ones.
The
has a single bedroom and a large covered deck area, which is
shaded in the morning but attracts afternoon sun. The shower and
toilet are off the bedroom. The kitchen is small but fully
equipped, and there is sufficient linen. The cottage has 110 and
220 volts, and a CD/radio/cassette player and hairdryer are
provided.
An
outside security light, controlled by light-sensitive photocell,
comes on at dusk each evening to light your way home. A maid will
come in to clean and change bed linen every three/four days and
sweep and mop.
A
welcome pack of basics will be provided at no extra cost.
Telephone calls are free islandwide, but international calls are
monitored and will be charged accordingly. Wifi internet access is
available free of charge for those of you unable to travel without
your laptop.
TreeCot
is just yards from Landfall and, although under separate
ownership, the two properties can be rented together if your party
is larger than Landfall's maximum of four.
